Q: Who are your influences? When you were coming up which artists did you listen to?
A: When I was younger I listened to a lot of Tupac. As far as influences my cousin Taurean really influenced me to be a rapper because he created full songs by himself, the beats, the lyrics everything. He really motivated me!

Q: If you could compare yourself to an even more established artist than yourself, who would that be and why?
A: I would compare myself to Will Smith, he had clean lyrics and his music was all about having fun. I have the same mindset when it comes to my music, I just want people to have fun listening to my music.

Q:  Who is your hip hop hero?
A:  My hip hop hero would have to be Mos Def.

Q:  What do you think your listeners will get out of your music?
A:  I think they’ll have a good time and party. That’s the kind of music I like to make, feel good party music.

Q:  What were you thinking about when your single was developed?
A:   I was thinking about how I could tell a story about three very different women that are freaky but only for their man.

Q:  What made you want to get into the business?
A:  My management team, they really helped me understand what the business is all about.

Q: What is the most difficult thing you had to endure in life?
A: Coping with my mom’s ailment. It’s been really hard for me.

Q: What is the most difficult thing you have endured in the music industry?
A:  I’ve had to learn the business behind music and understanding what it takes to make yourself successful, that has been really difficult, but really fulfilling because it’s what I love to do.

Q:  What is the significance of your name?
A:  De’Lion in French means the lion and it represents inner strength, the inner strength I’ve needed to become who I am and get where I’m trying to go.

Q:  What do you hope to do with your music?
A:  Heal the world and make it a better place.

Q: How do you plan to help change the world with your music?
A: By giving my audience an alternative to negativity in music.

Q: What is your 'vision' for your single?  What message are you trying to send?
A: My vision would have to be about enjoying life, having fun and experiencing the single life.

Q: How would you describe your “roots” (where you came from) and where do you intend to go?
A: I was born and raised in Dayton, Ohio, and it was a blessing. I’m walking by faith so I’m going wherever God takes me.

Q: Do you feel you are working toward, on the brink of, or have attained your break?
A: I feel like I’m on the brink of my big break.

Q: Are there any questions you were expecting that I didn't ask and want to answer?
A:  Only that you can go get my new EP “The New Beginning” on iTunes and Amazon.com. Also visit the website at www.colbdelion.com.
