Triple Los is Taking the Nexx Coast to the Next Level!

The Innovative and Creative Blog is excited to highlight Hawaii rap artist Triple Los! His music is a testament to real life and reflects his experiences. Los was gracious enough to tell us more about who he is and share some great music while doing it. Check out his interview and video below:


Getting to Know Triple Los
Q: Who is Triple Los?
A: Me ... Imma simple man with hella big dreams....I'm of mixed nationality puertorican and hawaiian . I grew up in NC(Fayetteville) and moved to the islands when I was 18 ... [I've] been in Hawaii ever since. Traveling around the world, Vegas, Atlanta, The Bay, Miami and still end up coming back to my Islands(Home).
     I've been doing music for the longest like 10 summers and 20 moonz. Family is everything in Hawaii , we stick close thru the good and bad.
     Being Polynesian is a special thing, our culture is really interesting from our tattoos to our food , definetly something you gotta try some day. I've opened up for e40, keek da sneak, Devin the Dude , Scarface, etc.
    GOTTHOS (Got-Those) is the independent label I'm on. We grinding hard out here in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, The Nexx Coast. I work real close with my fam ... there's Fia aka Tha Happ and also C-Gutta who have projects coming out this year that are definetly gonna be big problems for Hawaii and the [music] industry ... good music for the streets. My project out right now is titled REFLECTIONZ, with features from Keith Murray, Drew Deezy, C-Gutta, Tha Happ, Kuntry, Adapt, Trama (Take Off Records), Charity, Dru Singer, Phat Pat(free phat pat), Joekerr and more. On Hip-Hop and Hawaii
Q: What local influences are there on your music?
A: My music has that island swagg to it ...steal guitars, chants, and heavy drums ...Jus like a luau ... Lol!

Q: As a Hawaiian artist, what do you offer your listeners that sets you apart?
A: My listeners are gonna get the truth , the real me ... I'mma touch their heart and soul , with that Hip-Hop/Funk shit .. I might make you wanna cry or just wanna fight, either [way] they're gonna feel it.

Q: What is your favorite subject to write or rap about?
A: I love writing 'bout my life. Whether it's gud or bad ... Jus' real rap.



General Questions
Q: Who are your influences? When you were coming up which artists did you listen to?
A: Well I grew up on Eightball and MJG, Scarface , UGK, Outkast ...

Q: If you could compare yourself to an even more established artist than yourself, who would that be and why?
A: I wouldn't compare myself to anyone that's out now. I hope that's a gud thing, [because] I've perfected my own style and swagg ...smiling 

Q: Who is your Hip-Hop hero?
A: My Hip-Hop hero has definitely gotta be T.I. ... He [has] been through a lot , done a lot , and still keeping it moving. Salute to that man! 

Q: What do you think your listeners will get out of your music?
A: When you listen to my music you[re] gonna get the truth, soul, and a purpose ... There's a meaning to every [single] track that's not hidden.

Q: What were you thinking about when your single was developed?
A: My single is titled, "I Apologize."  I was going through the life of being an artist and still being a family man ... One foot in the street the other in Church ... [I] jus' felt I had to express my self like Chuck D ... Lol! ... Repent a little and say I was sorry for the hurt I caused ...


Q: What made you want to get into the business?
A: Poetry. I used to write poetry A LOT when I was younger. Then it jus' formed into rhymes, but the buisness part was all for the paper ... Rapping [itself] i jus' love it!

Q: What is the most difficult thing you have had to endure so far in your lifetime?
A: Been through a lot from jails to streets shit ... Hardest thing for me was being a daddy so young and not jus' thinking bout my self but others ... BIG transition, but easy now, ya dig?

Q: What is the most difficult thing you have endured in the music industry?
A: A lot of fake ass people...

Q: How did you come up with and what is the significance of your name?
A:  Tripple Los ... Tripple everything ... Lol!

Q: What do you hope to do with your music?
A: I hope to let people feel my music , and touch them and their life. Sometime[s] they've felt the same love that I do ...

Q: Do you feel you are working toward, on the brink of, or have attained your break?
A: Yea. I feel the music is in the right hands of people who need to hear it ... I'm nowhere near my break in this game, but u know im on my job .. Lol.
 
Q: Are there any questions you were expecting that I didn't ask and you would like to answer?
A: You covered everything nicely. I'd like to say thank you for taking the time to get with me and do this, thank you to VVS1 Ent. and Take Off Records for their love and support ...
