An Interview with Model Chelsey Bard

Q: What inspired you to become a model?
A: I've always been told I should look into modeling, and its been a dream of mine, I just never pursued it. My friend asked me to be in a shoot to help promote a site he was working with, so I thought I would try it out. After the pictures were posted from the shoot I recieved so much positive feedback it was unreal.  The feedback and support I got from so many people is what inspired me to become a model. It felt so natural, and I realized this can possibly set my daughter and I for life.

Q: What makes you stand out from the rest of the models?
A: I'm not cliche. I eat all the time, I'm blessed to have such a high metabolism. Regardless of my looks, I'm not stuck up or anything. I probably have the biggest heart of anyone I know. I plan on using my modeling talents to help change the world.
Q: What are some projects that you are working on or have worked on in the past?
A: Since doing promotional work for www.8and9.come the photographer of the shoot wants to get some shots just of me. I'm really looking forward to that, she's amazing. If it wasn't for her, I probably wouldn't be in this position.

Q: Do you think being a model makes it harder for people to take you seriously?
A: No, I plan on using my modeling for more than just "looking pretty", it is what you make it. My goal is to make sure people know who I am, and what I stand for.

Q: How often have you dealt with negativity from other people?
A: Everyday. There is always one person trying to bring me down. I learned to block it out because there is not point in wasting your energy on someone who doesn't support you.
I'm thankful for the negativity because it motivated
me to try even harder. You tell me I can't and I will.

Q: What do you think is the hardest part of being in the industry?
A: Rumors and privacy. Once people know your face, they want to know more about you. If people can bring you down and get exposure off of it, they will. Your personal life, can become their entertainment.

Q: Whats the mark you're trying to make in this industry?
A: I just want to be successful and make a difference. Whatever I become known for, I want it to be positive. I want young women to know you can be sexy and classy without over exposing yourself.

Q: Do you think there are enough opportunities out there for models to reveal their intelligence?
A: Yes I do, you just have to have the right knowledge as to where you can express it. Models are to be looked at. Why not use that to your advantage to showcase your other talents? Eyes are always on you anyways.

Q: Do you have any advice on how to ensure good pictures every time?
A: Have fun with it, one of my favorite shots was when a friend made me laugh during the shoot. Embody your character. If you have to look angry, become angry.

Q: Do you have any advice for aspiring models that are new to modeling?
A: Honestly. I do not. lol. I'm new myself so I still have a lot to learn. All I know is that confidence is key, believe in yourself and people will believe in you.

Q: Tell us something that people don't know about you already.
A: I have a very tomboy personality. I would rather watch the fight on Saturday then go get my nails done.

Q: How did you hookup with your manager Eric Smith?
A: Twitter! Isn't that crazy? What are the chances in that happening? lol

Q: What do you like to do in your down time?
A: I love spending time with my daughter, even though I do that on a regular basis. But I love hanging with people who can make me laugh. I would rather laugh and have a great time
with those I care about than going out to the club.
